Davisville AZ Team, Out of our Comfort Zone

Greetings from the Hualapai Reservation!
I have so many photos to share but internet here is poor and it took a long time to upload the photos I had in the last post!
We have not had showers and I finally shampooed my hair in the little sink in the ladies room in the sanctuary.

We had a great worship service this morning, the Hualapai way of worship! I got to be Scriptural and played the tambourine!

Psalm 150:4-6.  "Praise Him with the tambourine & dancing, Praise Him with the strings & flute, Praise Him with the clashing cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!"

This is Edison & Debbie and his family! Melody and I got to spend time with these precious folks. Edison wants me to give him piano lessons this week and the women want Melody to give them crochet lessons!

The men have amazed me at what they have accomplished in just two days! I wish I could post a lot of photos so you could see all that they have done! I will try to post
 before & after photos!
First, you see no walls. Then you see walls!

So, the walls are up and at the same time they have been working on the plumbing for the bathrooms on the outside and on the inside, where the kitchen use to be!

Then you see them starting to put the roof on this morning, before church.

Them

The roof is framed out and when I left to come to the lodge to do this blog, they were putting on the sheets of plywood for the roof!
Below is the men using the jack hammer trying to get through the cement floor to lay the pipes for the bathrooms. Wheelbarrows of dirt, sand and chunks of cement and stone, have been rolled out but we all have been breathing in dust and our upper respiratory lungs and sinuses could use your prayers!!

We have bathed this project with prayer! Many chances for mishaps or injury! God is good! Speaking of bathing, we are hoping to know what a warm shower, even a bath is like soon! We are out of our comfort zone!

I have one last picture that I wanted to post on the first blog when we got here. While we were in line at the Philadelphia Airport to go through security, I spotted this carry on bag! I had one of these when I graduated from high school in 1969! I didn't think any of these existed anymore, but here it is, a blast from the past!! LOL. Thank you for your prayers and support! It has been rugged but we have had good unity and many laughs! Oh yes, Fran is still the slave driver but we love him!

Blessings from

Arrived in Las Vegas and Arrived on the Hualapai Reservation

Hello Supporters and Interested Followers!
We had a long day of travel yesterday and arrived around 11 pm at the Church. We stopped at the Hoover Dam briefly, stopped at Home Depot and Walmart to get supplies. Below is the team eating lunch/dinner at Applebees. I am presently at the lodge where there is internet (?) and cell phone service. Having difficulty posting this latest blog. (sorry).

This is photos of us at Lake Meade and Hoover Dam.

Early this morning, Fran cracked the whip and work began very early!

Sorry that I don't have as much information for you as the internet connection is not very good. Thank you for your prayers and support.
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10.

Second Blog of the Davisville Arizona Team

This is the second blog I am submitting about the Davisville Arizona Team going to the Hualapai Reservation. I'm writing this from Bietigheim, Germany. I am still new at this blogging so I hope you can bear with me.
Lasr Sunday, September 15th, the team got to share, along with the Davisville Holland Team about our missions trip to Peach Springs, Arizona, with the Hualapai people. We will be reloacting their kitchen and building two bathrooms and attaching this building to their main church building, We shared briefly in all three services. The photos show us at each service.
9am Service in the main sanctuary.

11 AM serice in the Actvivity Center.

At the end of the 11 AM classic service in the main sanctuary.
We will be leaving Friday morning September 27th and will return on Sunday October 6th, 2013.
We ask for your prayer support especially for safety, good health, good weather and opportunities to share with the Hualapai people. We had ministered to the Hopi people the last two years. We developed great relationships with some of the Hopi believers and a group of them are going to travel to Peach Springs, many hours and many miles, to have dinner with them on Sunday, September 29th. We look forward to reconnecting with them again!

These are some of the Hopi people we hope to reconnect with on Sept. 29th. I guess the next entry to this blog will be when we arrive in Peach Springs. We pray that God will use us for His honor and glory and for His purposes that week in Peach Springs. We pray that we will make eternal investments in the lives of the Hualapai People!   Jan Vogel-Manz for the team.

Arizona Team 2013 to Peach Springs, AZ to Hualapai Reservation

September 5, 2013. The update on the Davisville Arizona Team;
We had a team meeting on Tuesday evening September 3rd. We had a team photo taken and we discussed the final details for our missions trip. We got an update on our financial support and what is still needed to be raised. We discussed our different tasks that we are responsible for, what to pack, and a tentative schedule for the trip. We spent time in prayer for God to honor and use us for His glory and opportunities to minister to the Hualapai people. We believe we will be presenting to the congregation on Sunday, Sept. 15th and that Pastor Tim is going to focus on our team and the Holland team this Sunday, Sept 8th at the all congregation service at 10 am. We hope to see you at church those 2 dates. We covet your prayers!  Jan Vogel-Manz for the team!
