so many blessings

After a being up for almost 24 hours Saturday, we finally fell onto our air mattresses about 11 pm AZ time last night, so very blessed and happy to be back in Keams Canyon.  Our flight went well, we got to Home Depot in Flagstaff in the afternoon, then food shopped at Walmart in Winslow, and pulled into our beloved "compound" about 9:30 pm, exhausted but excited.

This morning was Sundayschool....

and then church, where we heard from their new pastor, Harlan!

We then prayed for him and installed him in the church. Our hearts swelled with joy for this congregation.

A potluck lunch ensued, and we could barely find enough seats for everyone.  What a wonderful problem to have!

David and I were so glad to see one another again after a whole year - I got a huge bear hug and a smile a mile wide!

The men have started ripping off a roof, but will only be able to work for a few hours as we are hosting a movie night complete with ice cream social.  We will be showing "The Fifth Quarter".  We are praying for good attendance and open hearts.

Already, we have heard stories of sorrow and struggle among the people here.  These are strong Christians who serve the Lord with their whole heart and who desire to see their Hopi people come to Him too.   Pray for a strengthening of this sweet, humble country church as they look to reach the community around them.

Thanks for your support and for following along with us on the blog.  More tomorrow!

It's about that time

Saturday morning, we fly!

We are so happy to have you along for the trip.  Our blog posts and pictures should start appearing on Sunday.  We will arrive at Hopiland late Saturday evening after flying and driving all day, and then Sunday will be church with our friends and then a movie night Sunday evening, where we will be showing "The Fifth Quarter".  Please pray that we get a good attendance and that the movie is effective in ministering to the people that attend.

Talk to you next time from Keams Canyon, Arizona!
