happy birthday david

Last night the team had the honor of attending David's 6th birthday party. David currently lives with his grandparents who are very active members of the church (as is David).

Here he is pictured with Olivia, the daughter of missionaries Nick and Leslie.

We were thrilled and priveleged to attend his birthday party in his grandmother Virginia's home.  We had authentic Indian tacos (yummy) and a grand chocolate cake (pictured below before we devoured it) filled with chocolate icing and marshmallows that Olivia and David's cousin Sylvan made at the house while I was working at the computer blogging in the afternoon.  Double yum.

             David's father died a few years ago.  His mom is not currently able to care for him.  Virginia, his grandmother, is the one in the red apron.  She is so passionate for the Lord.  And, she is 76 years old and raising a young boy. 

David attends first grade at the local elementary school.

David has been through more in 6 years than a lot of us.

He sure is happy.  Contagiously so.  He makes us all smile.
